Enzymes and Cancer

Enzymes and Cancer is a recording of a lecture given by Nicholas J. Gonzalez M.D. on November 13, 2005, at a conference sponsored by the Weston A. Price Foundation. In this presentation he discusses the scientific support for his approach to cancer and other degenerative diseases.

Dr. Gonzalez has been treating cancer with his alternative therapy for over 20 years. His regimen can be broken down into the following basic components: diet, supplements (with proteolytic enzymes for cancer patients) and detoxification routines. Each treatment protocol is individualized for each patient, regardless of the underlying problem. In his lecture, Dr. Gonzalez reviews the rationale behind all aspects of his approach.

Dr. Gonzalez’s research has been funded by Procter Gamble, Nestle, and the National Institutes of Health. Articles about his scientific efforts have been published in the conventional peer-reviewed literature.

On February 5, 2001, The New Yorker magazine included a lengthy profile of Dr. Gonzalez and his research efforts, written by Michael Specter, entitled “The Outlaw Doctor.” He has been featured in many magazines including Prevention, totalhealth, and Life Extension. Dr. Gonzalez has also appeared on The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet on multiple occasions to discuss his treatment and provide insight into nutritional approaches to health problems.

He has been a guest lecturer at many professional seminars including Crayhon Research’s “Boulderfest.” Dr. Gonzalez and his colleague Dr. Linda Isaacs are currently practicing in New York City.

Pancreatitis support groups

In this article we will get more info regarding the pancreatitis support groups. Let us first understand what this pancreatitis is all about. This pancreas gland is an important organ in our digestive system. This pancreas gland produces two types of chemicals. The first one is hormones. The insulin is one of the hormones secreted by this pancreas gland. This insulin controls the sugar level in our blood.

You will have diabetes depending upon the insulin produced by this pancreas gland. The second type of chemicals produced by this pancreas is called as digestive enzymes. These digestive enzymes are used for digestion of fats.
These digestive enzymes react with the fats and break them in to small absorbable parts. These digestive enzymes are produced in this pancreas gland and remain inactive there. They become active only when they have reached the small intestine. This is what happens in the normal healthy persons.

In case of the person who has pancreatitis this does not happen like this. The digestive enzymes become reactive when they are in the pancreas gland. These digestive enzymes react with the cells and tissues of the pancreas gland. The cells get damaged. The tissues stop functioning. The rate of production of these digestive enzymes and hormones goes on decreasing. This process is also called as auto digestion. The pancreas may stop working partially or completely depending upon the damage caused by these active digestive enzymes.

Stress Reduction

Stress is a fact of life. We all have it. But with a few techniques, we can manage and reduce the amount of stress that effects. Below are a few ways that I have found to help. Find the one that is best for you and go with it.

One technique is deep breathing. Breathing correctly is essential for good health and it helps you relax by increasing the oxygen brought into your body. The next time stress overcomes you, try sitting comfortably and take deep, slow breaths. Count slowly from one to four while you inhale and count backwards from four to one as you exhale. Continue doing this for several minutes until you feel refreshed and ready to tackle the problem at hand.

Next is visualization. If you are under stress and are thinking anxious thoughts, you will naturally tense up. The ability to overcome the negative feelings is in your imagination. You can refocus your thoughts to more positive images and reduce the stress in your body. As with deep breathing, you start by getting into a comfortable position. Next close your eyes and imagine a relaxing place. Somewhere you feel safe and secure. What you visualize doesn’t really matter, as long as it calms you. Relaxing your mind also relaxes your body.

Another technique is called progressive relaxation. All this means is to slowly relax each muscle in your body and in turn reducing your heart rate and blood pressure as well as slowing down your breathing rate. Typically, this technique involves you first tensing a select group of muscles for several seconds and then letting go of the tension, gradually relaxing the muscles.

The fourth method is called the thought stopping technique. This helps you to overcome negative thinking and being overly worrisome. Negative thoughts have been known to lead to doubting oneself, fear, and antisocial behavior.

Yoga is another wonderful form of relaxation that can help ease your stress. Not only does it relax your mind, it also can improve your overall body image. The breathing you do during this exercise has been found to lower blood pressure. Doing yoga also improves your posture, muscle tone, and flexibility. It has also been known to improve a person’s outlook on life in general.

The last technique is an alternative one. The simple act of listening to calming music or to relaxation CD’s can ease the stress you feel. Put on your favorite choice, close your eyes, and sit back and enjoy.
